Way to rally the forces, Governor Abbott!
The Texas governor has recovered quite quickly, if he ever bruised at all, following the outcome of a bizarre Supreme Court ruling in which the Court proclaimed that the Biden regime had the right to cut down the razor wire that Texas has installed for its own protection.
After all, Biden has effectively abandoned the border, leaving Texans incredibly vulnerable to the massive influx of multiple millions of illegal migrants.
Little wonder that Republican Representative Chip Roy referred to the ruling as “unconscionable” in remarks to Fox News Digital.
“They have a duty under the Constitution … and every other norm of leadership of any sovereign state, to protect your citizens, period, full stop. There is no exception to that … And if the Supreme Court wants to ignore that truth, which a slim majority did, Texas still had the duty, Texas leaders still have the duty, to defend their people,” Roy added fiercely.
Unsurprisingly, Abbott has since doubled down in the wake of the Supreme Court’s bizarre ruling, proclaiming that Texas, despite any Court rulings to the contrary, retains the “constitutional right to self-defense.”
And not only has Abbott doubled down on Texas’s right to self-defense, contrary to the Court’s conclusions to the contrary, but also half the nation’s governors.
Every single Republican governor, with the exception of Phil Scott in Vermont, has sided with Abbott over Biden, citing national security as a significant consideration.
In a rather searing letter, the nation’s Republican senators let the Biden regime know exactly what they thought of his rather unimpressive non-response to the chaos at the border.
“President Biden and his Administration have left Americans and our country completely vulnerable to unprecedented illegal immigration pouring across the Southern border …
Instead of upholding the rule of law and securing the border, the Biden Administration has attacked and sued Texas for stepping up to protect American citizens from historic levels of illegal immigrants, deadly drugs like fentanyl, and terrorists entering our country,” the letter noted.
Yep. The exact same drugs that have turned the streets of San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and too many others into streets filled with straight up zombies.
And rather than end their sanctuary status, as most sensible cities would have done years ago, the leftists have doubled down on their sanctuary city policies while simultaneously demanding billions from the government due to the costs of their policies.
Actually, most sensible cities, and states, would never endorse sanctuary status in the first place, yet these Republican strongholds are the ones filled with taxpayers being hammered for Democrats’ pet projects.
Which is exactly why those same Republicans are standing in real solidarity with Abbott now.
“We stand in solidarity with our fellow Governor, Greg Abbott, and the State of Texas in utilizing every tool and strategy, including razor wire fences, to secure the border.
We do it in part because the Biden Administration is refusing to enforce immigration laws already on the books and is illegally allowing mass parole across America of migrants who entered our country illegally,” the Republican governors continued, making it clear that Biden has “abdicated” his responsibilities to the nation through ensuring perpetual chaos at the border.
Furthermore, others have proudly backed Abbott, including a real border Czar, Mike Banks, who told Abbott to feel free to construct razor wire fence on Texas’s borders.
One thing is for certain: If Biden is doubling down on tearing down the barriers needed to protect national security, then he is likely doubling down on his imminent implosion in the fall elections.
