If you thought the Department of “Justice” spying on school board meetings for supposedly anti-trans parents was bad, wait until you hear the latest and greatest from the federal government in the wake of January 6, 2020.
According to Representative Jim Jordan, the federal government has been actively flagging any American for purchases deemed suspicious since January 6.
Problematically, however, these purchases include … Bibles.
Jordan, who serves as chairman of the Judiciary Committee and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, noted the deeply disturbing trend and immediately drew attention to the federal government’s extreme overreach.
Jordan sent a rather pointed letter to Noah Bishoff, who served as the former director of the Treasury Department’s Office of Stakeholder Integration and Engagement in the Strategic Operations Division of the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, a rather lengthy name that is more commonly known as FinCEN.
“We now know the federal government flagged terms like ‘MAGA’ and ‘TRUMP,’ to financial institutions if Americans completed transactions using those terms. What was also flagged? If you bought a religious text, like a BIBLE, or shopped at Bass Pro Shop,” Jordan tweeted.
Jordan also linked his much more detailed letter, which emphasizes an enormous amount of massive government overreach over the past three years.
Specifically, the Biden-led government demanded for financial institutions to search for terms such as “MAGA” and “Trump” in Zelle payment messages, allegedly to look for “extremists.”
In addition, varied financial institutions could also identify potential “homegrown violent” and “lone actor” extremists through searching for individuals who purchased “bus tickets, rental cars, or plane tickets, for travel areas with no apparent purpose.”
Right. Because every single rental car apparently has a clear “purpose” at all times to a random person (or biased algorithm) evaluating it.
Wanna bet “car rentals” across entire red state are all considered “suspicious” to Biden?
The federal government also targeted Americans who dared to shop at Bass Pro Shops, which is apparently another major issue, per the Biden regime.
Better watch out for those fishermen. Real radicals, per the Dems.
However, most disturbingly of all, the Biden regime identified “religious texts,” including the Bible, as a potential warning sign of extremism, which is deeply disturbing, to say the least.
Seems like a full-on attack on First Amendment protections, or the right to religious freedom.
“Despite these transactions having no apparent criminal nexus – and, in fact, relate to Americans exercising their Second Amendment rights – FinCEN seems to have adopted a characterization of these Americans as potential threat actors,” Jordan noted ominously.
Not to mention First Amendment rights.
“This kind of pervasive financial surveillance, carried out in coordination with and at the request of federal law enforcement, into Americans’ private transactions is alarming and raises serious doubts about FinCEN’s respect for fundamental civil liberties,” Jordan continued.
“Alarming” is the nicest way to put it.
“Terrifying” is more accurate.
Jordan has called for the related “law enforcement agencies” to come forward in a subsequent “transcribed interview,” noting that his Select Subcommittee has been authorized to investigate “how executive branch agencies work with, obtain information from, and provide information to the private sector, non-profit entities, or other government agencies to facilitate action against American citizens.”
Hard to believe the Cold War ended less than forty years ago, given the state of the United States under Democrats today.
More than one conservative individual online can’t believe it either.
“I’m not surprised at all that the Federal Government watches who buys Bibles. Nothing is more dangerous to their scheme of absolute control than people who follow a higher power,” one online user remarked.
That’s the terrifying truth.
