Way to build that New Hampshire momentum!
As DeSantis and Haley continue to battle it out for being the “second most popular” GOP candidate, the former has just scored a major victory through his major defeat of varied DEI initiatives.
That’s right: Florida has now officially defunded diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, a move that is long overdue in more than one state.
“The rule adopted by the Board defined, for the first time, DEI and affirmatively prohibits FCS institutions from using state or federal funds to administer programs that categorize individuals based on race or sex for the purpose of differential or preferential treatment … The Board’s decision will ensure that taxpayer funds can no longer be used to promote DEI on Florida’s 28 state college campuses,” the Florida State Board of Education declared.
So, in other words, the Florida law is holding up existing federal law regarding anti-discrimination, though Marxist universities have clearly wormed their way around that through various anti-White hiring practices.
Which come back to bite them when their DEI picks side with terrorists, as seen in Harvard and many other Ivy League schools.
Florida Commissioner of Education Manny Diaz, Jr. also underscored how critical the shift back to education was of vital importance not only for the Sunshine state, but also for the nation.
“Higher education must return to its essential foundations of academic integrity and the pursuit of knowledge instead of being corrupted by destructive ideologies … These actions today ensure that we will not spend taxpayers’ money supporting DEI and radical indoctrination that promotes division in our society,” Diaz declared.
Absolutely. And since more than one politician is sounding like more than one ultra-radical professor, it’s even more critical that such anti-American views don’t continue to foster at American universities.
As part of the legislative overhaul, obviously biased classes were also abolished from the state curriculum, such as “Principles of Sociology,” effectively a version of “critical race theory.”
Instead, students will take a course on American history instead.
“The aim is to provide students with an accurate and factual account of the nation’s past, rather than exposing them to radical woke ideologies, which had become commonplace in the now replaced course,” the Florida State Board of Education remarked dryly.
Imagine that.
DeSantis also follows hot on the heels of Oklahoma, which recently announced its own defunding of prejudiced DEI initiatives.
“What we’ve seen is the most radical, [Marxists] push woke ideology through DEI programs … We do not want kids to be told that they are oppressors or victims based on their skin color. We instead want our kids to be told that they are each individually created by God, and they can do great things, and that’s up to them as individuals,” Oklahoma Superintendent of Public Instruction Ryan Walters informed Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.
That’s exactly right … and that’s real opportunity, for all individuals.
