Looks like one of the biggest nanny states on the planet has finally gotten a rather rude wakeup call.
Sweden, a borderline communist nation that has long had a snotty, elitist attitude towards America in general and Trump specifically, is finally learning that the entire world is not a safe space.
Indeed, the Scandinavian nation has long been so arrogant that it refused to even join NATO due to allegedly pacifist reasons, though its failure to join NATO has ironically put it square in the crosshairs of Putin.
After all, Sweden is now applying for membership, yet it is not yet an official member, in large part due to its determination to harbor anti-Turkish terrorists (who the Swedish media predictably depicts as victims).
That means Putin could attack Sweden at any time and technically not trigger the mutually agreed upon defense that NATO promises its members.
So, Sweden’s Defence Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin, perhaps one of the few Swedes with a clue, got rather real with the nation and the threats it faces during the recent ‘Folk och Försvar’ (Society and Defence) conference, which occurs annually.
“For a nation for whom peace has been a pleasant companion for almost 210 years, the idea that it is an immovable constant is conveniently close at hand. But taking comfort in this conclusion has become more dangerous than it has been for a very long time,” Bohlin brayed.
Translation: Swedes have become so spoiled by so-called peace that they don’t have a clue how the real world works.
Which is probably why the nation idiotically let in hordes and hordes of alleged “refugees” from the Middle East, many of whom have done little to contribute and everything to destabilize the nation.
And, if that wasn’t bad enough, the nation has now made itself vulnerable to Putin through its own arrogant refusal to acknowledge the realities of the world.
“There could be war in Sweden… The world is facing a security outlook with greater risks than at any time since the end of the Second World War,” Bohlin continued earnestly.
That’s exactly right. And Sweden is a rather attractive target to Putin, considering that Putin himself has issued thinly veiled threats to Sweden in recent years.
Threats Bohlin has certainly noticed, as he urged the Swedish population to consider voluntary enlistment.
“’Are you a private individual? Have you considered whether you have time to join a voluntary defence organisation? If not: get moving!” Bohlin urged.
Good luck with that, given all the pacificist snowflakes who think Trump is the worst person in the world.
That said, the American military is suffering from a significant shortfall in recruitment as well, no thanks to the ultra woke administrators being more concerned with gender transition surgeries than battle readiness.
A fact that even Sweden is finally starting to get.
“Societal resilience requires exactly that: situational awareness… Awareness must be translated into practical action. Measures that actually raise the threshold,” Bohlin warned.
Shame that the United States government appears to have lost “situational awareness” of its own border, as even Sweden didn’t have multiple millions stream in last year.
“Everyone has to understand that in the situation we find ourselves in, time may be our most precious non-renewable resource. If there is one thing that keeps me awake at night, it is the feeling that things are moving too slowly,” Bohlin added.
Isn’t that the truth.
A truth that reveals the upcoming American presidential elections are not only crucial for the security of the future of the United States, but also the future of the world.
