Leave it to one of the loudest “Squad” members to openly call for genocide.
Repugnant Representative Rashida Tlaib has apparently found it appropriate to not only espouse Hamas’s rallying cry, but also to gaslight the American public into believing the phrase is far more innocent than it really is.
Indeed, Tlaib has repeatedly espoused the phrase, “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!”, which effectively calls for the destruction of the Jewish state.
However, Ms. Tlaib issued a tweet that openly lied about the phrase’s real intentions.
“From the river to the sea is an aspirational call for freedom, human rights, and peaceful coexistence, not death, destruction, or hate. My work and advocacy is always centered in justice and dignity for all people no matter faith or ethnicity,” Tlaib sniffed.
Is that so?
The American Jewish Committee (AJC) feels differently.
“‘From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free’ is a common call-to-arms for pro-Palestinian activists, especially student activists on college campuses. It calls for the establishment of a State of Palestine from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, erasing the State of Israel and its people …
It is also a rallying cry for terrorist groups and their sympathizers, from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) to Hamas, which called for Israel’s destruction in its original governing charter in 1988 and was responsible for the October 7, 2023 terror attack on Israeli civilians, murdering over 1,000 people in the single deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust,” the AJC observed.
So, in other words, Tlaib is full of it, along with all her deranged supporters.
In fact, Tlaib is so full of it that even other Democrats have finally had the gumption to call her out.
Democrat Representative Elissa Slotkin directly called out Tlaib for her lack of empathy.
“As the only Jewish member of MI’s congressional delegation, I have worked to reach out to Arab & Muslim constituents who I know are feeling fear and anguish right now, & I have tried to reflect that empathy in my approach to this crisis. I ask the same of [Tlaib],” Slotkin began.
That would require actual humanity from Tlaib, something that is hardly forthcoming, given her open celebration of genocide.
Not to mention her open call for the continued destruction of Israel.
“The phrase ‘from the river to the sea’ is one of division & violence, & it is counterproductive to promoting peace. None of us, especially elected leaders, should amplify language that inflames a tense situation & makes it harder for our communities to find common ground,” Slotkin continued.
Alas, that assumes Democrats wish to find “common ground” in the first place.
Clearly, the desire for compromise has long since set sail amongst the Democrats.
Aside from Slotkin, Michigan Senate President Pro Tempore Jeremy Moss, also a Democrat, bluntly put Tlaib in her place.
“This is not how Jews view the phrase ‘from the river to the sea.’ This is not how Hamas views the phrase ‘from the river to the sea,’” Moss asserted.
That’s exactly right. Indeed, the phrase loudly espoused by Tlaib is absolutely a call for genocide.
“Hamas uses it as a rallying cry. And they don’t simply want to displace Jews in Israel. They want Jews dead,” Moss declared.
Just like more than one so-called “Representative” in Congress, who is apparently permitted to openly advocate destruction of an entire race.
