“Twitter Files” Journalist Jarred By Brazen IRS Intimidation

Wow, Democrats sure aren’t making much of an effort in limiting the number of rumors (rightfully) swirling regarding the growing weaponization of the government under the Biden White House.

On the contrary, they are amplifying them, especially when federal agents literally show up on the doorstep of a journalist who (gasp!) actually reports the facts.

Too bad for Democrats that these facts happen to pertain (directly) to social media platforms’ massive collusion with the lefties, which doubles as a campaign against conservatives.

Indeed, the esteemed Wall Street Journal recently published a troublingly titled article, “The IRS Makes a Strange House Call on Matt Taibbi,” regarding the recent harassment of the ironically liberal journalist who has steadily exposed previous political corruption at Twitter, complete with evidence.

“Democrats are denouncing the House GOP investigation into the weaponization of government, but maybe that’s because Republicans are getting somewhere. That includes new evidence that the Internal Revenue Service may be targeting a journalist who testified before the weaponization committee …

Mr. Taibbi has provoked the ire of Democrats and other journalists for his role in researching Twitter records and then releasing internal communications from the social-media giant that expose its censorship and its contacts with government officials,” the publication reported.

The WSJ article also noted that the IRS paid a visit to Taibbi on the exact same day that he testified before the Select Subcommittee on …. You guessed it … “the Weaponization of the Federal Government.”

Rather fitting that his testimony was more than validated by the very same government being weaponized against him, to the extent that he received a personal house call.

Needless to say, an alarmed Taibbi alerted House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan to the highly troubling, and frankly threatening, situation, prompting the representative to demand immediate answers.

Indeed, Jordan has just issued a “hard deadline” to the IRS in an explicit letter, with regards to turning over any and all documents regarding the Taibbi visit, making it rather clear that he won’t tolerate such brazen intimidation of varied witnesses.

“In light of the hostile reaction to Mr. Taibbi’s reporting among left-wing activists, and the IRS’s history as a tool of government abuse, the IRS’s action could be interpreted as an attempt to intimidate a witness before Congress. We expect your full cooperation with our inquiry … Please produce all documents and information [regarding the Taibbi visit] as soon as possible, but not later than 5:00 p.m. on April 10, 2023,” Jordan wrote.

Thus far, the IRS has totally blown off Jordan, along with much of the legacy media.

Which only adds to the fears regarding the growing weaponization of the government under Biden’s puppet masters’ domain.

“The fear of many Americans is that, flush with its new $80 billion in funding from Congress, the IRS will unleash its fearsome power against political opponents,” WSJ concluded ominously.

Based upon the rather brazen intimidation of Taibbi, those fears are very well-grounded … and one can only imagine what other laws Dems may invent in the meantime to justify further threats and intimidation.
