The Biden administration just can’t quit COVID, as evidenced by the fact that the federal government has taken the rather extraordinary measure of continuing to require COVID tests for entry into the US well into the spring, despite the fact that virtually all nations across Europe, Africa, Latin America, and even most of Asia have long since dropped that restriction for entry.
In Europe’s case, many restrictions were dropped well over a year ago.
However, it remains unclear if illegal migrants have to submit COVID tests as well.
Predictably, the lamestream media is also whipping up fresh fears about yet another “variant,” each one more inanely named than the last.
CNN, always good for a few laughs, is laying on the melodrama regarding the allegedly newest variant, clearly addicted to spreading fear.
According to the self-proclaimed leading news source, the apparent XBB.1.5 variant (yep, that’s the newest name), could well be “the most transmissible subvariant of Omicron to date.”
Ah, that’s right … Apparently Fauci is on to subvariants, an even more conveniently nebulous phrase for the media to manipulate.
And the White House “COVID coordinator,” Dr. Ashish Jha, is participating lockstep with Fauci.
“Jha said XBB.1.5 is probably more able to slip past our immune defenses and may be more contagious. But he said it’s still not clear whether it causes more severe disease, something that was also stressed by Van Kerkhove,” CNN reported.
Yep. Of course.
If the Biden administration needs to ramp up the fears, now it has the supposed “context” to do so.
Thanks, Lord Fauci, for sparking such literally endless fear across the nation.
Just in case you thought Dr. Fauci couldn’t shock you anymore, prepare to become shocked again.
As it turns out, all the rumors regarding Dr. Fauci’s extreme narcissism may well have even more foundation, given a recent report from none other than the New York Times.
In a rather humorously titled NYT profile, “After Half a Century, Fauci Prepares for Life After Government,” the leftwing media outlet began by illuminating just how self-obsessed Dr. Fauci apparently is.
As most people who have spent “half a century” in the government tend to be, including the current president.
Twitter user Jerry Christmas gleefully pointed out the first line of the New York Times article, which truly is quite hilarious.
“The walls in Dr. Anthony S. Fauci’s home office are adorned with portraits of him, drawn and painted by some of his many fans,” the NYT profile began.
Wow, how about that.
First off … “some of his many fans?” What? Since when are public health bureaucrats the equivalent of celebrities?
Heck, celebrity worship is ghastly enough, but transforming politicians into celebrities (cough, Obama, cough) is highly problematic on a number of levels, starting with the fact that public bureaucrats are allegedly public servants.
Not movie stars.
Elon Musk, of course, had a rather humorous reply, sardonically inquiring, “maybe he just loves looking at science?”
Musk also noted that Fauci’s apparent shrine to himself, in his office no less, where he can admire himself all day long, is fairly “creepy.”
About as creepy as Fauci believing himself to be the veritable embodiment of science, as he bragged about in 2021 to NBC.
“A lot of what you’re seeing as attacks on me, quite frankly, are attacks on science, because all of the things that I have spoken about, consistently from the very beginning, have been fundamentally based on science,” Fauci proclaimed.
Wow. Talk about arrogance.
The same type of arrogance that is letting COVID paranoia grip the nation again, if anyone else has witnessed the lone liberals driving with a mask inside their cars, windows rolled up.
As for alleged “attacks on Fauci,” more like attacks on lifelong corruption in the swamp … with the added twist of a Chinese bioweapon being funded by American taxpayer dollars, at least in part … EcoHealth Alliance, anyone?
Evolutionary behavioral scientist Gad Saad was rather taken aback by Fauci’s declarations, wryly remarking that “the science is anything that His Eminence Lord Fauci says it is. His Excellency is science.”
Sadly, Fauci remains fixated to masks, otherwise known as a hallmark of authoritarianism, at least in terms of how the Democrats have opted to use them.
Just consider the recent mandates from Eileen Shafer, the superintendent of the Paterson school district in New Jersey.
“Your safety and well-being is our priority, so to mitigate the spread of illness, it has been decided that upon the return from winter break we are reinstating the districtwide mask mandate,” Shafer drawled.
This is a mandate for 2023. Hence the remark on authoritarianism above.
Musk also weighed in on Fauci’s self-definition, noting that people who are the most insistent upon science are likely less attuned to the reality of what science really is.
“Anyone who says that questioning them is questioning science itself cannot be regarded as a scientist,” Musk remarked.
Fauci, of course, continues to demonstrate no self-awareness, even declaring that he is not at all afraid of testifying to Congress, in spite of being caught in more than one deception.
Including his apparent disbelief in the effectiveness of masks in private.
“I have no problem testifying before the Congress. I have nothing to hide. I could easily explain and justify everything I’ve done. So they’re making a big to-do about it, but I respect the concept of oversight,” Fauci drawled.
Well, of course Fauci has no problem testifying before Congress.
He only proclaimed, “I don’t recall” about 174 times over the course of his last deposition in Congress …
So, no wonder he has no problem testifying. He does what he does best: Make highly public appearances while revealing almost nothing of the most relevance to the public.
