Another week, another Democrat busted in yet another misinformation scheme.
This week, it’s none other than DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, who was apparently aware in advance that the migrants storming the border were not, in fact, being “whipped” as the fictional news media portrayed.
However, Mayorkas decided to go for feelings over the truth, soldiering on to crucify Border Patrol while knowing all along that they were not “whipping” migrants.
Mayorkas apparently didn’t count on emails being exposed that revealed otherwise, as revealed by Bill Melugin of Fox News.
“NEW: Email reveals DHS Secretary Mayorkas was alerted by DHS’ top public affairs official that the ‘whipping’ narrative behind horseback BP photos wasn’t true, but at a WH press conference 2.5 hours later, he didn’t refute the narrative, instead calling the images ‘horrifying,’” Melugin tweeted.
Well, how about that. Mayorkas knew the truth, but he decided to go with his “horrifying” false reality instead.
Indeed, it is “horrifying” to have someone like Mayorkas at the helm, who spent most of his first few months in power declaring that the border was totally under control, one of the administration’s numerous, staggeringly brazen lies.
Moreover, Mayorkas had more than enough time to prepare an alternative, truthful public statement.
“[The email] was sent hours after President Biden falsely accused the agents of ‘strapping’ migrants and promised they would ‘pay,’ and hours before Mayorkas’ presser,” Melugin continued.
The email was sent by photographer Paul Ratje, who made it very clear that the migrants were not being “whipped.”
As Ratje took the photo, one would expect him to know that.
“Some of the Haitian men started running, trying to go around the horses. I’ve never seen them whip anyone. He was swinging it, but it can be misconstrued when you’re looking at the picture,” Ratje stated.
However, the White House decided to dismiss the inconvenient truth in favor of a falsehood that fit the narrative, to the detriment of the democratic principles they claim Trump tried to destroy.
Fortunately, for now, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is still in effect, as the email from Ratje was obtained by the Heritage Foundation via the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
“They filed a Freedom of Information Act request with DHS in March, seeking communications about the ‘whipping’ incident. DHS didn’t produce the documents, so Heritage sued in June, and last week, DHS turned over an initial batch of emails,” Melugin detailed.
Of course, the truth didn’t stop Biden.
“To see people treated like they did … people being strapped – it’s outrageous. I promise you, those people will pay,” Biden raged.
Right, Biden. Too bad the rage was disproven by a 511-page report that revealed “no evidence that [Border Patrol agents] involved in this incident struck, intentionally or otherwise, any migrant with their reins.”
Imagine that. The truth.
Something Mayorkas apparently detests, given his “take” following the publication of the photos and his dismissal of the photographer’s email.
“The images horrified us in terms of what they suggest and what they conjure up. In terms of not only our nation’s history, but unfortunately the fact that that page of history has not been turned entirely,” Mayorkas intoned.
Unfortuantely, the current stage of history is one in which the government does nothing consistently but lie.
