Woke State Legalizes Legal ID For Illegals

It’s a good thing that California Governor Gavin Newsom keeps insisting that he is not running for president in the upcoming 2024 and 2028 elections, given his rather bizarre policies that won’t exactly play out well on a national scale.

Exhibit A: Informing all Californians that no more gas-powered cars will be sold by 2035 … only to instruct the same Californians to not charge their electric vehicles the following day due to power brownouts.

Classic Democrat logic.

Unfortunately, Democrat logic can also equate dangerous conditions, especially in one of Newsom’s more absurd moves of 2022, which naturally follows up from his absurd move in 2015.

Per a report from The Sacramento Bee, Newsom apparently thought it was a great idea for illegals to receive legal drivers’ licenses, which means that illegals can of course vote blindly Democrat in every single election.

“Undocumented Californians have been able to get driver’s licenses since 2015 under Assembly Bill 60, which former Gov. Jerry Brown signed in 2013. But those who don’t drive did not have access to the ID cards the Department of Motor Vehicles issues to residents who can prove they have federal legal status,” the Bee reported.

That’s nice. “Proving” federal legal status after illegally entering the country.

Is that the Democrats’ idea of “equity?” If so, precisely why are they throwing such a fit about illegals arriving in their wealthy playgrounds, like Martha’s Vineyard?

Millions of illegals armed with legal federal ID are precisely why Democrats want to nationalize elections, so that California and New York can effectively win the presidency via the popular vote (heavily subsidized by illegals).

States like Florida, that don’t exactly follow the path of Newsom, clearly would check the power of states like California, at least to a degree, but abolition of the electoral college, which most Dems clamor for, would largely eliminate those checks and balances.

Despite how terrible the drivers’ license policy is, giving away drivers’ licenses apparently wasn’t enough since some illegals apparently do not drive, which led Newsom to pass an even nuttier law with the help of several California coastal elites.

Hence a new bill: California ID’s For All, the text of which can be reviewed in full here.

That is indeed the actual name of the bill. “IDs For All.”

What isn’t a right in California, aside from the right to think freely?

One thing is for sure: Feelings are apparently the primary argument of California politicians, to the surprise of almost no one.

Assemblymember Mark Stone of Monterey Bay is an excellent example of such a “feelings” guy.

“Lack of identification is one of the largest barriers to success into the community because IDs are essential to securing employment, housing, and social services. AB 1766 is an essential gateway to social inclusion and should be a basic necessity that every resident has access to,” Stone bemoaned.

Well, gee, Mr. Stone. If a random American decided to move into Japan or Switzerland or elsewhere, illegally and with no regard for the appropriate immigration proceedings, then it would stand to reason that said American doesn’t exactly have the right to demand Swiss and Japanese authorities kowtow to them.

In the United States, however, apparently American politicians, notably Democrats, are so desperate for votes that they literally legalize illegal IDs.

Assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer of Los Angeles loaded on the pathos even more, which is fitting coming from a city laden with crime.

“This bill brings equity to those who have been unable to access basic life essentials because they have no legally recognized identification. What many of us take for granted – having an ID – will have life-changing ramifications for many in the immigrant and disabled communities,” Jones-Sawyer wailed.

Oh, the ramifications will be “life changing” all right. Nation changing as well, if the Democrats have their way.

Assemblymember Robert Rivas of Salinas was perhaps the most dramatic of all, proclaiming that “everyone” deserves “access to ID,” as if ID were as vital to immediate life as water.

“Everyone deserves access to identification,” Rivas roared, “this legislation moves us one step closer to true equity for our undocumented neighbors. As Vice-Chair of the Latino Legislative Caucus, I am proud to partner with Assemblymember Stone on this important legislation and applaud my colleague for his leadership on this issue.”

Right. Leadership on an issue that runs totally contrary to immigration law, but Dems are not exactly known for their respect of the law.

Nor are they known for their self-awareness, as demonstrated by Mr. Newsom himself.

Rather than deal with massive crime, insecure borders, electricity shortages, and widespread wildfires, Newsom would apparently rather rant and rave over Fox News anchors.

Maybe he has hair envy.

“That prime-time lineup by Fox, they’re ruthless. They dominate the most important thing in American politics today, and that’s the narrative. Facts become secondary to narrative. They dominate with illusion and we are getting crushed. We are on the defense over and over again,” Newsom raged.

Oh, is that so? So, Newsom feels “crushed” due to some Fox News anchors pointing out rather obvious rot on the west coast?

Heaven forbid Newsom actually eliminate the “illusion” of California as a remotely desirable state to live in.

“Where are we? Where are we organizing, bottom up, a compelling alternative narrative? Where are we going on the offense every single day? They’re winning right now,” Newsom raged.

Well, Mr. Newsom, snowflakes aren’t exactly known for their consistency, but they’ll rant and rave at a protest if they’re paid enough, in all likelihood.

And perhaps the reason conservatives are “winning” can boil down to something very, very basic: common sense, not to mention a desire for crime free society.
