DeSantis Denounces Raid On Mar-A-Lago

During an appearance in Arizona, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis resoundingly condemned the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s resident in Mar-a-Lago, declaring that federal law enforcement agencies have become “weaponized” against “people the government doesn’t like,” such as political opponents.

“These agencies have now been weaponized to be used against people that the government doesn’t like,” DeSantis observed.

The discrepancy in treatment is especially clear when evaluating the difference in treatment between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump.

“I’m trying to remember, maybe someone here can remind me about when they did a search warrant at Hillary’s house in Chappaqua [New York],” DeSantis continued, “when she had a rogue server and she was laundering classified information.”

DeSantis continued on to note that the nation is becoming a “banana republic” with such tactics, as weaponizing the government against political opponents is a common practice in authoritarian regimes.

“That is not a republic,” DeSantis remarked bemusedly, “maybe it’s a banana republic when that happens.”

During his appearance at the rally, DeSantis also called for all attendees to unite against the Democrats, especially since it will not be “an easy ride” to oppose their agenda.

“Once areas go left, buckle your seat belt. It’s not going to be an easy ride,” DeSantis warned, “I don’t want to see that happen in Arizona.”

The Florida governor also addressed an ongoing crisis plaguing the state, namely the out of control migration that commenced when the hapless Biden administration took over.

DeSantis pledged to send support in the form of the National Guard if Arizona also demonstrated a willingness to contribute.

“If you’re willing to put people at the border,” DeSantis offered, “I’m willing to send National Guard to help.”

DeSantis made the offer to Governor Kari Lake, who he vowed to cooperate with in terms of protecting the border.

The Republican governor is widely favored to beat his competitor, Democrat Charlie Crist, as well as widely rumored to be on the presidential ticket in 2024 in some capacity.
