Recently, conservatives became rankled as Cracker Barrel, a restaurant chain beloved for its southern specialties, decided to co-opt elements of the Green New Deal, specifically with regards to plant-based meat alternatives.
Consequently, the restaurant chain introduced Impossible plant-based sausages, which are sausages designed to mimic the taste of meat without actually containing any animal products.
Per some conservative views, the company has gone too far in attempting to appease the far left while forgetting the primary preferences of its core consumer base.
The Tennessee-based company recently declared on Facebook that it would be exploring the “new meat frontiers” of Impossible Sausage, which appears virtually identical to traditional pork-based sausage.
“Experience the out of this world flavor of Impossible Sausage Made From Plants next time you Build Your Own Breakfast,” Cracker Barrel urged.
The company decided to extend its Impossible sausage offerings to all its locations after a successful initial test run at 50 different Cracker Barrel locations.
Per the company’s corporate team, Cracker Barrel is always “exploring opportunities to expand how our guests experience breakfast and provide choices to satisfy every taste bud.”
However, the response from consumers has been mixed.
Some have praised the move, saying they are “so grateful” for the option and now “have a reason to return” to Cracker Barrel after adopting a vegetarian lifestyle.
Others have been harsher, with one social media user warning Cracker Barrel not to “tread” on their pork.
Perhaps the harshest criticism, however, originated from another social media user, who referred to the introduction of Impossible sausage as “a woke social experiment based on ideology and not business.”
Another user even linked the business decision to the Biden administration, joking that “#CrackerBarrel has now kidnapped my family in order to get me to eat their impossible sausage.
“Thanks, Biden,” the user quipped.
