Across the United States, COVID-19 cases are allegedly on the rise, and ostensibly set to worsen in the coming months, according to various US health officials. The same public health officials are now calling for previously hard-hit areas for COVID to resume indoors mask mandates.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued new guidance for mask mandates in light of rising numbers of COVID-19 infections and allegedly corresponding hospitalizations. Alongside masking, the CDC also calls for other precautions.
Approximately one-third of the American population is living in an area that is considered to be high risk: chiefly in the Midwest and Northeast. According to public health officials, these individuals should be wearing masks while indoors; however, the bureaucrats insist that all Americans should pay close attention to mask mandate developments in various states.
According to Rochelle Walensky, who serves as the CDC’s director, “increases of infections, in different waves of infection, have demonstrated that this travels across the country.”
During the White House briefing, the CDC director also noted that “local leaders [should] encourage use of prevention strategies like masks in public indoor settings and increasing access to testing and treatment.”
While the public health officials enthusiastically recommend masks, they have are far more reticent about providing insight into specific time frames regarding the eventual end of the pandemic. Instead, they hedge by remarking a variety of different factors can influence the course of when the health crisis ultimately is put to rest.
Recently, Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House COVID coordinator, remarked that the nation will be highly vulnerable to the pandemic’s resurgence in the fall if Congress is not given another round of massive government funding theoretically geared towards fighting the virus. The funding will ostensibly be earmarked for vaccines and other treatments.
Jha claims that failure to provide Congress with the authority to issue billions of funds in relief will result in an “unnecessary loss of life.”
In recent weeks, various experts are claiming that a sixth wave of COVID is imminent.
