Supreme Court Suffers Devastating Leak

When the Dems stoop low, they stoop really low.

As if their constant attacks on Supreme Court nominees aren’t bad enough (just consider the treatment Brett Kavanaugh received), the latest effort to influence the Court has all but aimed a strobe light at the extent of Democrat deception.

In a wholly unprecedented move in modern history, a 60-page draft of an opinion written by Justice Alito was leaked to Politico, a shockingly obvious maneuver to disrupt the proceedings of the highest Court in the nation.

After all, the draft reveals a rather clear position on a highly controversial matter, as reported by Politico:

“[Alito’s draft] is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right.”

The draft itself makes that position clear, noting that the Supreme Court intends to overturn federal meddling in abortion, instead returning that debate to the states.

In other words, Texas’s legislation would stand, given that it is Texas’s legally ordained right to determine matters within its own state borders.

Biden may blow off national borders, but some states certainly do not blow off their own, especially when it comes to federal tyranny seeping through the edges and influencing state politics.

Which is precisely why the Supreme Court sided with states’ rights.

“The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion,” the draft concludes. “Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives.”

Excellent! Victory for liberty!

Except the truly unfortunate fact that a mole or two (or more) can and will upset Court proceedings for partisan purposes.

Needless to say, the Court itself is deeply troubled, offering “no comment” in response to inquiries.

In addition, the SCOTUS blog, a highly respected author on Twitter, weighed in on the crisis.

“It’s impossible to overstate the earthquake this will cause inside the Court, in terms of the destruction of trust among the Justices and staff. This leak is the gravest, most unforgivable sin,” SCOTUS blog tweeted.

Seriously.

“Destruction of trust” is just the beginning. What about destruction of justice?

Which happens to be precisely what Republicans are demanding.

“The Supreme Court & the DOJ must get to the bottom of this leak immediately using every investigative tool necessary,” Senator Tom Cotton declared.

And, if one is waiting for Democrats to show decency and be embarrassed, think again.

Democratic campaign strategist Brian Fallon tweeted: ‘Is a brave clerk taking this unprecedented step of leaking a draft opinion to warn the country what’s coming in a last-ditch Hail Mary attempt to see if the public response might cause the Court to reconsider?

So, the “strategy” of the Democrats now is to apparently leak highly sensitive documents at any time, no matter what the cost?

Sounds highly unethical at minimum, if not far more egregious.

“Squad” member Ayanna Pressley delivered breathtakingly brainless commentary, devoid of a basic grasp of the English language.

“Abortion care is a fundamental human right and we must legislation like it,” Pressley pompously declared.

“We must legislation like it.” Right. That makes perfect sense.

Clearly, Pressley graduated at an even lower tier than AOC with such disastrously crafted commentary.

Hollywood heart throb Gavin Newsom, who masquerades as a genuine governor in California, laid on the melodrama while also demonstrating a rather astonishing absence of reading comprehension.

“Our daughters, sisters, mothers, and grandmothers will not be silenced. The world is about to hear their fury. California will not sit back. We are going to fight like hell,” Newsom intoned.

Uh, for what exactly, Newsom?

The Supreme Court merely returned abortion to the state level, which means California is free to do whatever it wants with regards to public health, including the endless closure of fitness facilities long said to promote public health.

Lib logic.

Needless to say, legal scholars remain unimpressed by liberal logic, such as legal scholar and attorney Jonathan Turley.

“The article represents the greatest crisis that Chief Justice John Roberts has faced in his tenure on the Court,” Turley observed, “’the most likely motivation is obviously to pressure the Court and push the legislation in Congress on a federal abortion law before the midterm elections. It will also likely renew the call for court packing.”

Seriously.

Senator Marco Rubio also issued a stark reminder for the future, especially in the context of the left’s constant attacks on Trump.

“The next time you hear the far left preaching about how they are fighting to preserve our Republic’s institutions & norms remember how they leaked a Supreme Court opinion in an attempt to intimidate the justices on abortion,” Rubio remarked.
