At Arizona State University (ASU), several students have become angered by Rittenhouse’s presence on campus. Recently, these students launched a concentrated effort to expel Rittenhouse, in spite of the fact that a jury recently concluded Rittenhouse had acted in self-defense.
During an appearance on Fox New Channel’s Tucker Carlson show, Rittenhouse informed Carlson that he takes courses online, though he would eventually like to take courses on campus. However, various leftist student groups have banded together, calling for school administrators to expel Rittenhouse from ASU.
In a statement, the coalition proclaimed that Rittenhouse “is still guilty to his victims and the family of those victims … even with a not-guilty verdict from a flawed ‘justice’ system.”
“Join us to demand from ASU that those demands be met to protect students from a blood-thirsty murderer,” the statement urged, which also labeled Rittenhouse as a “mass shooter.”
These student groups include the Multicultural Solidarity Coalition, Students for Justice in Palestine, Mecha de ASU, and Arizona State University Students for Socialism.
Their demands include withdrawing Rittenhouse from enrollment, as well as defunding the ASU police department and redirecting the funds towards the university’s Multicultural Center. Furthermore, the leftist students also demand an official university statement that condemns white supremacy and Rittenhouse, in spite of the fact that no evidence supports the claim that Rittenhouse is a white supremacist.
Aside from these demands, the students also believe they are entitled to a CAARE Center, which would ostensibly create “a healing space to address community needs and reduce health and socioeconomic disparities.”
The coalition of liberal student groups intends to host a protest and rally ” to get murderer Kyle Rittenhouse off our campus” this Wednesday.
However, school officials claim that Rittenhouse is not enrolled in any courses at ASU.
