While Biden has delivered a number of hilarious statements as of late, perhaps one of the most hilarious of all pertains to his absurd vaccine mandates:
“Let’s be clear: Vaccination requirements should not be another issue that divides us. That’s why we continue to battle the misinformation that’s out there and companies and communities are stepping up as well to combat this misinformation.” [Source: The Blaze]
Let’s be clear: Vaccine mandates are dividing the nation.
Let’s also be clear about the implications of this division: Judging from various reports trickling out from various industries, last weekend’s mass Southwest cancellations are a mere harbinger of things to come in an economy effectively hijacked by the federal government.
As various organizations scramble to adhere to the Biden administration’s rather abrupt mandate, increasing numbers of employees from NBA players to healthcare workers, have unsurprisingly become leery of the remarkably aggressive, not to mention remarkably invasive, mandate.
For instance, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who never met a “defund police opportunity” that she didn’t like, has apparently decided it’s a great idea to immediately target law enforcement for this mandate.
Apparently, Lightfoot also finds an October 15 deadline, or today, perfectly acceptable for officers’ compliance.
“We have decided to join other municipalities and government agencies across the nation, including the U.S. military, who are making this decision to protect the people who are keeping our cities and country moving.
We have also been in close communication with our partners in the labor movement to create a vaccination policy that is workable, fair and effective … There will be consequences if people are not complying with what the policy is by the Oct. 15th deadline.” [Source: The Blaze]
More like there will be “consequences” for the already ailing city of Chicago, at least according to Chicago Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara, who has openly stated that police officers will not be bullied into submission by Lightfoot.
The officers that Chicago has managed to still hold onto (for now), that is.
“It is the city’s clear attempt to force officers with a ‘chicken little, the sky is falling,’ into compliance – do not fall for it. Hold the line …
It’s safe to say that the city of Chicago will have a police force at 50% or less for this weekend coming up … That is not because of the FOP. That is 100% because of the mayor’s unwillingness to budge from her hard line.” [Source: The Blaze]
Something suggests that the police are going to win this round, though since Lightfoot has her own private security, it’s doubtful that she’ll pay much notice to the drastically reduced police presence on Chicago’s increasingly violent streets.
Not only are these vaccine mandates endangering security within the nation’s borders, they are also drastically impacting security measures outside of the nation’s borders.
For instance, in news that will surely thrill China, the US Navy is poised to released multiple seamen who have yet to receive the vaccine, which is perhaps not the most tactical action to take as China continues to taunt Taiwan.
“Sailors must be prepared to execute their mission at all times, in places throughout the world, including where vaccination rates are low and disease transmission is high … Immunizations are of paramount importance to protecting the health of the force and the warfighting readiness of the Fleet.” [Source: Fox News]
One can only hope that such “readiness” hasn’t been compromised by the Biden administration’s brazen politicization of the COVID pandemic.
Some state governors have already taken measures to counteract the Biden administration’s absurd demands, including Governor Abbott of Texas and Governor DeSantis of Florida.
DeSantis also pointed out the dramatic impact that the vaccine mandates will have upon the American economy.
“The coercion is just totally wrong. I think it’s destroying trust in public health to the extent that there was still trust left over after everything that’s been done. You’re going to end up driving people away … I just think it’s fundamentally wrong to be taking people’s jobs away, particularly given the situations that we see ourselves facing with the economy.” [Source: The Daily Mail]
A number of situations with the Biden administration are fundamentally wrong, and one can only hope that Americans work towards seriously rectifying these issues in the voting booths 13 months from now …
