GOP Governor Won’t Let Biden Forget About This Ongoing Crisis

While most of the world is understandably distracted by the tragic catastrophe unfolding across Afghanistan, the border crisis has not exactly slowed down. In fact, per multiple news reports over the past several weeks, illegal border crossings are surging on a month by month basis.

These exponentially increasing crossings have not only shattered countless past records regarding illegal crossings, but have also gravely endangered national security, especially since individuals from virtually all over the world can apparently pass right on through the relatively porous border between the United States and Mexico.

Apparently, the “best” the Biden administration can do is assign Kamala Harris to be “border czar” (what a joke), whose shining contribution includes a luxury trip to Guatemala where she prattled on about addressing “the root causes” of illegal border crossings, rather than actually dealing with border crossings.

Currently, Kamala is gallivanting about Asia, including a rather ill-timed visit to Vietnam, perhaps mulling over “the root causes” of the Afghanistan withdrawal from there – In either case, it is clear she is not exactly going to be of much help in the ongoing crisis.

On top of that, the federal government does not seem terribly concerned about Americans in general, given that the best Pelosi has to offer is that “hopefully” all Americans will be released from Afghanistan.

“Hopefully” Pelosi will soon be out of power, though she and her ilk will continue to damage the United States in the meantime.

Which is precisely why Abbott has enlisted the help of the Texas National Guard to begin tacking the border crisis head-on, Texas-style.

In an official statement, Abbott announced that the National Guard would begin playing a significant role in securing the border, especially due to the “unprecedented” resistance of the federal government to establishing national security.

Not only has the federal government disregarded the law entirely, it is going out of its way to ignore other elements of the government, including the Supreme Court.

This is also the same federal government that completely blew off the Supreme Court ruling regarding eviction moratoriums; the Supreme Court clearly voted against further extension, but Biden’s (or Pelosi’s) response was merely to weaponize the CDC and somehow continue eviction moratoriums.

The Supreme Court has also recently ruled against Biden in terms of continuing Trump’s Remain in Mexico policy, as detailed by Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt.

“Back in April, along with the Texas Attorney General’s Office, I filed suit against the Biden Administration over their suspension of the Migrant Protection Protocols, or the ‘Remain in Mexico’ Policy, a successful President Trump-era policy that helped fight the crisis at the border …

After we won at the federal court and the Circuit Court of Appeals, we have again prevailed over Biden’s Department of Justice at the Supreme Court tonight – the Migrant Protection Protocols must be reinstated. This is a huge win for border security and the rule of law, and highlights our efforts to continually fight back on federal government overreach.”[Source: The Daily Wire]

The Supreme Court ruling clearly is a major win, especially when taking into account the fact that Trump remains right to this day. At the same time, since Biden brazenly disregarded the ruling regarding the eviction moratorium, it is unclear if he will bother to respect the latest ruling on Remain in Mexico.

However, Abbott is wisely not waiting around to see whether or not Biden will bother to respect the Supreme Court, which is precisely why he has also decided to continue construction on the wall, with the help of the Texas National Guard.

“In addition to performing a law enforcement function, the Texas National Guard is also helping with the early stages of constructing border barriers and a border wall.” [Source: Townhall]

It will be interesting to see if Biden attempts to interfere with this wall or not, which really wouldn’t be surprising as he clearly has an absolute abundance of free time on his hands.

To do nothing. Though perhaps with Biden, nothing is better than something.
